To get to this beach from Bidart, head towards Biarritz on the departmental road 810 (Avenue d'Atherbea). At the intersection of avenues du Plateau, de Chabadenia and rue Erretegia, a road goes to the left (Erretegia Nord) and provides access to a large car park.
Erretegia beach is located near Bidart Center in a green and natural setting that stretches over several hundred meters. This beach is also the starting point of the coastal path: the illustrious hike of the Basque Coast which extends over 25km to Hendaye.
Erretegia, has been the subject of an innovative project combining a site renaturation plan and its adaptation to climate change.
It is accessible on foot, about 250m from the car park (paying from June 15 to September 15), by bike via the Vélodyssée and by bus from the “Erretegia” stop.
The beach is supervised in July and August.
You also have a small restaurant: the Kanttu where you can have a drink, eat with a view of the sea surrounded by greenery.
