Surf Camp in Guethary

Want to live a unique surfing experience? ? The École de la Glisse organized a surf camp in Guéthary , where 9 young Parisians had the chance to discover the waves of the Basque Coast. They surfed on incredible spots like Erretegia , Parlementia , and Bidart Centre, in a sporty and friendly atmosphere .

During this surf camp, our teenage surfers explored different Basque spots:

• Erretegia , with its perfect waves for beginners and progressers, where our children eat in the school cabin.

• Parlementia , wilder and suitable for more experienced surfers, a perfect spot for making good progress

• Bidart Centre , ideal for having fun while having a pretty coastal setting.

Everyone had the opportunity to challenge themselves on waves adapted to their level, while enjoying the magnificent landscapes.

A Week Filled with Activities and Fun

This week's program was varied and allowed our young surfers to enjoy a comprehensive experience, combining sport and relaxation. Here's a look at the highlights:

• 7 days of intense surfing : Every morning, they enjoyed surf sessions on the best spots in Guéthary, learning, having fun and improving their skills with the help of our instructors.

• Accommodation: They are staying in Thomas’s house in Guéthary (rue Elizaldia)

  A beautiful residence with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room equipped with a PlayStation.

• Cooking with Chef Gaspard : At lunchtime, the team got hands-on cooking with Gaspard, a future chef. Every evening, he prepares an exceptional dish with the help of one person.

• FIFA Tournament : After a day of surfing, it was time to relax. A FIFA tournament allowed our young people to challenge each other in a friendly atmosphere, each vying for virtual victory.

• Picnic and Beach Day : A friendly time on the beach, with impromptu picnics at lunchtime in our cabin. And swimming to relax after a good surf session.

  Sunset Stroll : Every evening, enjoy a seaside stroll to admire the sunset, overlooking the Basque mountains and the ocean. A magical moment to recharge your batteries and enjoy the beauty of the region with friends.

• Skateboarding : Every evening we go out into town with a limited time, and take skateboards, strolling around Guéthary.

• Diving from the Guéthary harbor breakwater : A moment of pure fun and thrills for those who weren't afraid to jump into the water from the harbor breakwater. An impressive dive, but one that was thoroughly enjoyed by the more daring among you!

Gabriel : "My third surf camp with the school of surfing, and not only have I never been disappointed but I've also never progressed so much. Memories that I'll keep all my life, all thanks to them <3"

Gaspard : "It was magical. The waves were perfect for me. I made good progress and I loved the Bidart Centre spot . And then, the atmosphere with the others was really cool, we had a good laugh. Thanks Thomas and David for this week."

Rio : "Erretegia was definitely my favorite spot. It was quiet, not too crowded, and the waves were perfect for learning. In the morning on the board, in the afternoon relaxing with the others... Honestly, it was the best."

Jojo : "I loved the atmosphere here, everyone is super chill, and we surfed some crazy waves. I felt really good on Erretegia . We also had time to discover a bit of Basque culture, and it was really cool. Thanks, monos!"

César : "Honestly, I didn't think I'd enjoy it so much. It was both sporty and relaxing. Bidart Centre was a great place to learn. And the coaches were really great, super patient and educational with us."

Gatsby : " Incredible surf camp with the best instructors, who help you progress while having fun riding all the waves of the Basque coast. They take you to all the best spots depending on the conditions, such as Erretegia, Parlementia, and Hendaye.

You'll never be bored, because even when the conditions aren't right for surfing, you can still play football on the fronton, play padel or even jump off the Guéthary port seawall.

Watch out for David's rude awakenings and games of Uno to decide who will do the dishes... but don't worry, you can easily beat David at FIFA!

If you want to surf, get ready: on the agenda, surfing every morning and every afternoon, sometimes even with picnics on the beach.

During this week, you will make enormous progress, have fun, and leave with unforgettable memories, with David and Thomas, as well as with your friends."
